Bonus Energy Training
DWPA offer targeted training programs for legacy Bonus Energy turbines, designed to support technicians, maintenance teams, diagnostics engineers, operations staff, and technical leaders in extending the reliability and service life.
Bonus Energy Legacy and Importance
Bonus Energy (Denmark) was a well-known turbine manufacturer until its acquisition by Siemens (now SGRE) in 2004.
Even though Bonus is no longer active as an independent brand, many of its turbines remain in operation across wind farms globally.
As these machines age and often operate with legacy control systems, proper training is critical – not only to maintain performance and reliability, but also to ensure safe and compliant operations in an evolving technical landscape.
We combine theory, hands-on practice, and diagnostic insight in our trainings that is not just informational, but directly applicable in the field.
“Legacy equipment demands modern training. We teach not just how, but why – so your team can adapt even when spare parts or documentation are scarce.”
Supported Bonus Turbine Models and Systems
We support training for many of the classic Bonus turbine models still in service, including (but not limited to):
- Bonus B19/120, B23/150, B24/150, B30/150
- Bonus B31/300, B33/300, B35/450, B37/450
- Bonus B41/600, B44/600, B54/1000, B62/1300, B76/2000, B82/2300 (highest rated)
If your specific Bonus model is not listed, we can create a custom module to cover its unique control and system characteristics.

Delivery, Certification, and Flexibility
Hands‐on exposure in real turbines or mock-up assemblies (where available) helps reinforce theory with practical familiarity.
Modular and scalable – Select only the modules relevant to your team or opt for a comprehensive, full-track training program.
Assessments and certification at the end of modules to validate participant competence before returning to field roles.
Blended delivery (in-person, virtual, hybrid) to accommodate travel, logistics, and cost constraints.
Refresher training and ongoing support – especially critical on legacy fleets where documentation may be sparse and field staff turnover high.
Modular training structure for Bonus Turbine Systems
At Danish Wind Power Academy, we organize our training offerings in modular levels — each designed to progressively deepen participants’ understanding and field competence in Bonus turbine systems. This structure ensures that every participant, from new technicians to experienced engineers and asset managers, can build skills relevant to their role and experience level.

Training Programs for Bonus Turbines
We take a 360° approach to operational training and have designed a range of programs to support the development of wind turbine technicians as well as off-site supporting resources and operational leadership teams to support a holistic understanding of the issues which drive operational performance.
Competency Assessment
What: Our assessment tool gives an advantage in understanding the level of the participants. This ensures that participants are attending classes and training sessions that are appropriate for their skill level, avoiding wasted time in sessions that may not be beneficial to them. And allows for more effective scheduling of daily operations.
The Assessment will clarify your current knowledge and competency gap and enable you to make informed choices when deciding what training will be needed.

Advanced Component Theory
What: This class is designed to provide you with critical knowledge of generic wind turbine systems and sub-systems to component level, including an introduction to technical documentation such as electrical schematic diagrams and hydraulic diagrams. It is delivered over 5 days with both individual and group interactive exercises with a formal assessment at the end of the class.
Who should attend: Any who have requirements to understand the technical aspects of wind turbine technology
Delivery Options: This class can be delivered either in-person or via the distance learning online method.

Technical Sprints
What: Technical Sprints are designed to enhance your theoretical knowledge within one of the following topics: Controls, Hydraulics, Mechanicals, Gearbox and Electrics.
Who should attend: Technical sprints have been developed following our assessment, where we test in five different subjects: Controls, Electrics, Gearbox, Hydraulics, and Mechanicals. Suppose the assessment indicates a lack of knowledge in one or more of these subjects but high scores in others. In that case, we suggest our technical sprints instead of undergoing an entire Advanced Component Theory Training.
Delivery Options: This class is delivered via the distance learning online method.
